Victor Image Processing Library -- What's New
August 19, 1996 . . . Victor Library for Windows version 4.11
New file handling functions have been added to the library:
- loadjpgfrombuffer
- Loads an image into a DIB from a JPEG-encoded memory buffer.
- jpeginfofrombuffer
- Retrieves JPEG image file data from a JPEG-encoded memory buffer.
- unlockLZW
- Enables LZW compression/decompression in the Victor Library. Proof of valid LZW license agreement with Unisys is required. This affects the use of the loadgif, savegif, savegifex functions for GIF file support. And it affects the use of loadtiff and savetiff only when using LZW compression, other types of TIFF image files are not involved here.
Unisys holds the patent rights to the LZW compression technology used in GIF and TIFF-LZW image files. The LZW license agreement is necessary if you wish to use this technology. This is true regardless of how you develop the LZW support, what library you use, or even if you write all the code yourself.
July 1, 1996 . . . Victor Library for Windows version 4.10

- Rotation by any angle -- an image or an area of an image can now be rotated by any angle specified as a double-precision floating point number.
